
Makeyeva Olena Mykolaivna – is Head of the Department of Theory of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law at the Kyiv Aviation Institute, Candidate of Legal Sciences (PhD in Law), Associate Professor, certified trainer of the HELP Programme of the Council of Europe, and member of the «Woman’s Tribune» NGO.
In 2015, at the Department of Theory of State and Law of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, she defended her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Legal Sciences (PhD in Law) in the «Theory and History of State and Law: History of Political and Legal Doctrines». She continuously works on improving her professional qualifications and academic development.
Since September 2022, she has headed the Department of Theory and History of State and Law. In November 2022, she became a certified trainer of the Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe within the framework of the Council of Europe HELP Programme «Supporting the Contextualisation of Modules/Courses for Lawyers during the War in Ukraine» in Strasbourg, France. From July 3 to 5, 2024, as an expert of the Council of Europe «HELP» (Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals) project, she visited the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France.
The current focus of her scientific activity is legal communication in the context of the information society. She is the author of more than 150 scientific publications on issues of theory of state and law, 5 educational and methodological works, and a co-author of 6 collective monographs, 4 of which were published abroad, as well as 10 copyright certificates and 5 articles indexed in scientometric databases: 4 articles in Scopus and 1 article in Web of Science.
She has been awarded certificates of recognition and letters of gratitude from the faculty administration and the rector, a certificate from the Head of the Solomianskyi District State Administration in Kyiv, a certificate from the Union of Lawyers of Ukraine, as well as a letter of gratitude, certificate, and honorary certificate from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and a letter of gratitude from the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.
