Onishchenko Natalia Mykolaivna<\/strong> \u2013 is President of the \u00abWoman\u2019s Tribune\u00bb NGO and Deputy Director for Scientific Work at the \u00abV. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine\u00bb. She is a theorist of state and law, Doctor of Legal Sciences (since 2002), Professor (since 2004), Honored Lawyer of Ukraine (since 2006), and Full Member (Academician) of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine (since 2014).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born on October 3, 1956, in Kyiv, she graduated with honors (gold medal) in 1974 from Secondary School No. 155 named after Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv. In 1979, she graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Law of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv State University (now the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv), earning a specialist diploma in law.\n\nSince 1979, she has worked at the \u00abV. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine\u00bb, holding the positions of research intern, junior research fellow (since 1981), research fellow (since 1986), senior research fellow (since 1991), leading research fellow (since 2003), Head of the Department of Theory of State and Law (since 2006), and Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the Institute (since 2022).\n\nAt the same time, for many years she has headed the Political and Legal College \u00abALSKO\u00bb and has served as Academic Secretary of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine (since 2023).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the scientific and practical legal \u00abAlmanac of Law\u00bb, member of the editorial board of the journal \u00abLaw of Ukraine\u00bb, and member of the editorial boards of the academic legal journals \u00abBulletin of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine\u00bb, \u00abNew Ukrainian Law\u00bb, \u00abState and Law\u00bb, and \u00abRule of Law\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has supervised and supported the successful defense of 27 Candidates of Legal Sciences (PhD in Law), 5 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees, and 4 Doctor of Legal Sciences degrees. Nina Mykolaivna Onishchenko has also repeatedly acted as an official opponent in dissertation defenses for the degrees of Candidate of Legal Sciences, Doctor of Philosophy, and Doctor of Legal Sciences, as well as serving as a reviewer of PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) dissertations.\n\nShe is engaged in scientific and expert activities in the interests of, and commissioned by, public authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Natalia Mykolaivna Onishchenko actively cooperates with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and other state bodies.\n\nFrom 2019 to 2022, she served as the Chair of the Sectoral Expert Council of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance. Currently, she heads the Expert Council at the Ministry for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, is a member of numerous working groups and commissions under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Councils of the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, as well as the Scientific Advisory Council under the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a member of working and expert groups, Natalia Mykolaivna Onishchenko actively participates in international conferences and seminars, conducts monitoring research, and contributes to the implementation of projects within the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.\n\nAt her initiative, the \u00abCenter for Legal Studies of Gender Policy\u00bb was established at the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her research interests include fundamental issues related to the functioning and development of the national legal system, its essence, nature, functions, and the mechanisms of interaction between contemporary legal systems, as well as improving the effectiveness of domestic legislation.\n\nShe also focuses on the social dimension of law, legal culture, legal consciousness, and the legal status of the individual in the European Union and Ukraine in the context of their interdependence and interconnectedness. Her scholarly work further addresses the essence, purpose, and place of law in modern social life, the interaction between civil society and the state, problems of legislative drafting, issues of law-making and state-building, as well as the nature and significance of legal analytics, legal forecasting, and legal monitoring. A separate research focus is devoted to gender issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has published more than 1,000 scientific works, including over 90 monographs, 4 of which are individual (single-author) studies. Natalia Mykolaivna Onishchenko consistently publishes her research in leading Ukrainian academic journals as well as in international periodicals, 10 of which are indexed in the scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science.\n\nA separate dimension of her scholarly achievements is her participation in encyclopedic publications, including the six-volume Legal Encyclopedia published by the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Great Encyclopedic Legal Dictionary, and the Great Ukrainian Legal Encyclopedia, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to data from Google Scholar, the total number of citations of the author\u2019s publications is 3343, with an h-index of 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
