Andrusiak Iryna Pavlivna — is Ukrainian scholar, lawyer, and active public figure who has dedicated her professional career to the protection of human rights and the promotion of gender equality. She was born in the city of Lviv and obtained a higher legal education at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, specializing in «Law».
In 2017, Iryna Pavlivna Andrusiak obtained the academic degree of Candidate of Legal Sciences (PhD in Law) after defending her dissertation titled «The Idea of Gender Equality in Ukrainian Legal Thought of the Second Half of the 19th Century». This stage of her academic career marked the beginning of an in-depth study of the legal aspects of gender-related issues. In 2024, she defended her doctoral dissertation, presenting to the legal academic community a fundamental theoretical and legal study on «Prevention and Counteraction of Domestic Violence».
Today, Iryna Pavlivna Andrusiak works at the Lviv Polytechnic National University, where she holds the position of Associate Professor at the Department of Theory of Law and Constitutionalism within the Institute of Law, Psychology and Innovative Education. She is also the founder and head of the Center for Legal Studies of Gender Equality at the same university — a platform that brings together scholars, students, and the wider community to promote a culture of equality and non-discrimination.
Iryna Pavlivna Andrusiak is the author of numerous academic publications that systematically explore issues of gender equality, the legal protection of victims of violence, and the evolution of legal ideas in the context of social change. She is also the developer and lecturer of the course «Legal Framework for Gender Equality» for law students, as well as the author of a textbook of the same name, which is actively used in legal education.
Her expert knowledge has been engaged within the work of expert groups involved in the development of the Gender Equality and Personal Development Policy at «Lviv Polytechnic National University», as well as the Strategy for the Implementation of Gender Equality at the Lviv City Council.
In addition to her academic and teaching activities, Iryna Pavlivna Andrusiak is actively involved in the civil society sector. She is a co-founder of the public organization «Yariy», which implements educational and human rights initiatives in the context of equality, freedom, and human dignity.
